The TOP GUN Experience at maximum intensity: the night flight.
Equipped with your Night Vision Goggles (NVG), you fly in total darkness. Every manoeuvre, every air combat engagement, every carrier landing takes on a new dimension when the sun has gone down and your only reference is the green image through your NVG.
Suit up, take your seat in the twin-seat cockpit and take off alongside a real (ex-)fighter pilot. He briefs you, guides you and takes you through a night sortie exactly as combat crews experience it.

Take the controls of the F/A-18 Hornet, the US Navy's carrier-based strike fighter and the aircraft at the heart of Top Gun Maverick.
Catapult launch from the carrier deck, aerobatics, interception, low-level flying, arrested landing on the flight deck… every exercise mirrors what a real naval aviator trains for.
- Preparation : Suit up in your flight suit.
- Briefing (~15 min) : Your instructor walks you through the basics of flying the F/A-18.
- Flight (~30 min) : Catapult launch, aerobatics, interception, low-level flying, arrested carrier landing. You choose your objectives and your pace.

One-on-one against a real (ex-)fighter pilot. One objective: win the fight.
Your instructor briefs you on BFM fundamentals (Basic Fighter Maneuvers), the close air combat techniques taught to military fighter pilots worldwide.
You take off in tight formation, then the engagement begins.
Multiple passes in offensive, then neutral setups. After every pass, your pilot assesses your performance, corrects your errors and drives your progress. The turning fight demands anticipation, precision and composure under pressure.

Two of you against our fighter pilot — an uneven fight on paper, and yet…
Each in your own F-16 simulator, you coordinate your manoeuvres to gain the upper hand on your instructor, a real (ex-)fighter pilot.
- Briefing : your fighter pilot briefs you on your 2v1 ACM mission (Air Combat Maneuvering).
- Dogfight : take off in formation, climb to the engagement zone, turning fight 2 vs. 1 multiple offensive then neutral setups. This programme is only possible if your flying level allows it. Your fighter pilot will do everything to maximise your capabilities.
If you shoot down your fighter pilot in a neutral 2v1, he'll buy you a drink at the bar !

This experience is therefore not recommended for anyone with health conditions that may be incompatible with it, particularly cardiac conditions. Please consult your doctor beforehand if necessary and inform the pilot before the flight. Pregnant women are not permitted to participate. Flight Experience Nivelles cannot under any circumstances be held responsible for any in-flight discomfort leading to the immediate termination of the Experience. - What does a fighter pilot Experience involve?
- Hyper-immersive fighter flight simulation at the controls of an F-16 or F-14. High-speed manoeuvres, aerial combat : experience the sensations of a real fighter pilot!
- Is it a realistic experience?
- Yes! The cockpit, instruments and visual effects of a fighter jet faithfully reproduced. You are totally immersed in the action.
- How does the TOP GUN Experience work?

- Will I get to fly myself?
- Yes, you take the controls coached by your pilot/instructor. Loop, roll or more extreme manoeuvre : your pilot guides your learning.

- Yes! Dogfight Experience or Viper Experience with a real fighter pilot. BFM (Basic Fighter Maneuver) : combat formation 1 vs 1.
- What is the difference between TOP GUN, Viper and Dogfight Experience?
- TOP GUN Experience (EUR 299) : F-14 two-seat cockpit, co-pilot of a real fighter pilot for a full mission. Viper Experience (EUR 349) : controls of your own F-16, tactical solo mission. Dogfight Experience (EUR 349) : BFM 1v1 against a real fighter pilot. Progression : Topgun - Viper - Dogfight.
- What is BFM (Basic Fighter Maneuver)?
- BFM is the close air combat technique taught to NATO fighter pilots. Offensive and defensive manoeuvres to achieve a firing position or escape an adversary. Our (ex-)pilots teach you the real fundamentals of BFM in our F-16 simulators.
- Do I need to be a pilot or have prior experience?
- Not at all! Accessible to everyone from age 12. A passionate military fighter pilot guides you step by step.
- How long does the session last?
- TOP GUN Experience : 1h30 - F-18 : 1 hour - F-16 : 1 hour - F-16 DUO : 1 hour - Viper : 2 hours - Dogfight : 2 hours - Dogfight DUO : 2 hours. Briefing always included.
- Is there a weight or age limit?
- Maximum weight : 110 kg. Recommended minimum age : 12 years. Not recommended for people with epilepsy or severe cardiac conditions.
- Have your pilots actually flown the F-16?
- Yes, our instructors are real former fighter pilots from the Belgian Air Component who have flown the F-16.
- Night flight possible?
- Yes! TOP GUN Night Experience with night vision goggles (NVG). Same mission as TOP GUN but in total darkness. EUR 299, 1h30. Mention 'night flight' when booking.
